The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Los Angeles Chapter is teaming up with the Orange County, San Diego, SF Bay Area, and the Inland Empire chapters to bring you the FIFTH Annual AppSec California. The event is a one of a kind experience for information security professionals, developers, and QA and testing professionals, as they gather at the beach from around the world to learn and share knowledge and experiences about secure systems and secure development methodologies.

One and Two-day training sessions on various subjects by expert trainers kick off the conference on January 28th. World renown speakers follow on days three and four.

There will be four concurrent tracks throughout the day on both January 30 and 31, addressing a variety of topics to enhance knowledge.

Jon Gucinski is the lead Security Engineer in Netflix’s Studio Information Security (SIS) group. Partnering with internal production and creative executives, external producers, department heads, and production employees, SIS works to safeguard the systems, data, and people involved in creating Netflix’s original content. He also leads Netflix’s Social Media Security effort, protecting a portfolio of hundreds of social media accounts for Netflix brands, teams, Originals, and high-profile individuals. Jon is the founder of the Los Angeles Cyber & Information Security in Entertainment (LA-CISE) group, a data sharing and networking organization bringing together security practitioners from over 40 companies. Prior to joining Netflix, Gucinski had several roles at Apple, in which he led high profile security incident response, employee investigations, and the information security program for a large Special Projects group. He also has experience in a number of other industries, including healthcare, utilities, finance, and banking. Jon earned a Masters degree in Information Assurance, as well as a Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems from Iowa State University.
